Ear Plug Ratings and Reviews – Protect your ears!

When going to a concert or show with very loud music that you love, it is very important to protect your ears from hearing loss and ringing-in-the-ears. This way, you can enjoy the music for years to come and sleep great at night.

Etymotic Research ER20 High-Fidelity Earplugs-White with Clear Stem These were my favorites for a long time. Only $9.95 on Amazon so every time I lost a pair I could just buy a new one. They reduce the sound decibels by a large amount, but you can still hear the music well and balanced. One complaint though is that they are a little bit large for my ears and stick out a little bit. They have a baby size version which are too SMALL for my ears.

Alpine Hearing Protection MusicSafe Classic Earplugs A little more expensive than the etymotics, and these don’t block as much sound — so they are slightly “louder”. However they fit my medium size ears perfectly, and they don’t stick out as much. They are basically hidden in your ear canal. There are two filters included (gold & silver) depending on how much decibels you want to block. I recommend the Gold filter in most scenarios.

Hearos Ear Plugs Xtreme Protection Cheap and disposable, soft & comfortable. Good earplugs for back-ups to put in your bag, car glovebox, etc. Unfortunately they usually block too much of the highs and mids. And it’s hard to have a conversation with someone while wearing these.

Howard Leight Laser Lite Foam Earplugs Not much to say about these basic foam earplugs except they look kind of cool because of the design. Probably good for raves.
